Label Concepts Art Specifications
Please create your artwork at the EXACT SIZE (including the corner radius of the dieline) of your label. If the artwork includes photos which bleed over the edge of the die, allow for 1/8 " of bleed in your art.
If your artwork uses a custom or odd shaped die please make sure the dieline is included in your art.
English text should be no smaller than 5 point in height. Text in reverse areas should be no smaller than 5 point in height, sans serifs and in a bold typeface. Non-alphbetical text (ex: Japanese, Chinese characters) should be no smaller than 2 millimeters in height. Non-alphbetical text in reverse areas should be no smaller than 2.5 millimeters in height.
Please use a minimum rule line weight of .5 point for positive copy, and a minimum of .75 point for reverse copy.
Please make sure that the colors indicated on your artwork are spot colors unless your art is in 4 color process (CYMK).
If your artwork includes graduated screens or percentages of spot or process colors, the minimum percentage should be 3% rather than 0%.
Please DO NOT SET ANY TRAPS ON THE ART. Our pre-press software will do all necessary trapping.
Mac files are preferred as we work on a Mac platform, but we also accept PC files that are saved for use on a Mac platform (please refer to your software manual for instructions on how to save your PC files for use on a Mac). The applications you use must be compatible with our systems. We prefer your art work to be in Adobe Illustrator (up to version 9.0) but we wil also accept files created in Quark Xpress (4.1), Adobe Photoshop (6.0), Freehand (9.0), and Adobe PageMaker (6.5). Please include all master files for placed images (minimum resolution must be no less than 300lpi) and any screen and printer fonts used with your job. A composite visual aid (color print) is extremely helpful as it assists us in producing your label as it was designed.

We accept art on CD, 100MB Zip dsk, 3.5" floppy disk, or attached to email sent to art@labelconceptsinc.com. E-mailed art files must be smaller than 7MB.
